Western Europe needs to understand that without Russia there is no Europe, and that Russia is Europe, given that it has managed to preserve the values that the western part of the continent has lost, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
In a post on Telegram, she drew attention to the words of Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who said that the Munich Security Conference had become a “diplomatic cacophony” and that Europe should listen to the words of the Americans and take more responsibility.
RIA Novosti reported that Zakharova recalled that in the 19th century there was a ‘European Concert’ – a system of international relations of which Russia was an integral part.
“You, not Europe, but Western Europe, need to take a map and understand that without Russia there is no Europe, that Russia is Europe, taking into account the true values that we have preserved, which were destroyed at home by Western Europeans. Until you do this, instead of a concert there will be a cacophony,” Zakharova wrote.
