Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukrainian authorities will reveal “all the facts about how the North Korean military is participating on Russia’s side in the war against Ukraine.”
Emphasizing that an investigation is ongoing into North Korean soldiers captured on the battlefield in Russia’s border region of Kursk, Zelenskyy shared a video of the soldiers on the social media Telegram.
“The statements of the captives have confirmed intelligence reports about the transfer of soldiers to Russian territory, their training, their complete informational isolation, and North Korea’s participation in this war,” the Ukrainian president stated.
On January 11th, Zelenskyy announced that the Ukrainian military had captured two North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region of Russia.
Authorities from the United States (U.S.), South Korea, and Ukraine have repeatedly claimed that North Korea has sent thousands of soldiers to Russia and that, after training, they were deployed to the battlefield in the Kursk region. Russia and North Korea have not confirmed these allegations.
