57cd5d86-4578-4ac6-9ca5-1ecc0a0a0a64-zvizdic-718x446Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic met with officials from the World Bank in Washington, with whom he discussed the progress in the implementation of the arrangement with the IMF and obligations that have to be fulfilled, the possibilities of cooperation with other creditors such as the World Bank and the EBRD, as well as the fulfillment of objectives from the Reform Agenda.

Zvizdic is visiting Washington, where he is attending the spring meeting of the IMF and World Bank. Yesterday he attended a series of meetings in which was discussed the economic situation in BiH, as well as the projects that are implemented in our country with the help of these international institutions.

Zvizdic noted that the largest macroeconomic problem in BiH is unemployment and that focus on all institutions in BiH should be on creating new workplaces. He emphasized that the Council of Ministers of BiH is intensively working on attracting foreign investors, as well as the improvement of the competitiveness of BiH. He thanked for the great technical and professional assistance that the IMF and World Bank provide to our country.

He also said that BiH is advocating for strict implementation of agreed obligations and noted that the implementation of agreed reforms means strengthening of many sectors, such as the health sector, the energy sector, the construction sector, the agricultural sector, as well as improvement of the legal framework for business operations.

At the meeting was noted that everyone in BiH is supporting the agreed reform in terms of economic development and that the economy must be the main activity of all governments.
