The first gold medal for BiH at the Special Olympics World Winter Games

photo BH special Olympics teamThe first gold medal for BiH at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria, is won by Andrija Rados in alpine skiing in the discipline Super G.

With a result of 1: 14.49, he was ahead of Dusan Stefanov from Serbia and Kyle Robinson from the United States.

These are the first Olympic Games for Andrija, and he proudly said: “This is my happiest moment in my life. When I finished the race, I did not believe that the gold medal will be mine. Many thanks to my coach Rusko, with whom I have the last three months practicing skiing on Vlasic Mountain. Thanks to coach Ognjen who made me confident. Everybody talks about American athletes, and coach Ogi says: “you’re the best”, and so it was. In am returning to BiH with gold, but I want a medal in giant slalom as well.

With lots of emotions, selector Glamočanin said that it could be seen in the preliminary races that Andrija is ready.

The competition continues today with preliminary races in giant slalom where Edna Šunjić, Merima Osmanović, Tanja Glavočević, Harun Tanović, Spomenko Martinović and Andrija Radoš will compete.

According to the program of the competition, our competitors compete will compete in the qualifying races in the Nordic country skiing in the discipline of 1000m: Hiba Sultanović, Selmedina Berišaj, Sanela Ćorović, Kristina Klačar, Edita Berišaj, Njegoš Mihailović, Nemanja Šević, Radenko Savanović and Josip Adžaip.

Tanja Glavočević, who performed in Super G-u, took the fourth place.
