Stari Grad Municipality signed Contracts for 215 Scholarships

Ibrahim Hadžibajrić 2The Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, signed 215 contracts on awarding scholarships to children of martyrs, killed soldiers, war invalids and demobilized soldiers for school year 2016/2017.

“We have allocated 215 scholarships, 90 for high school students and 125 for students. Scholarships for high school students amount to 80 BAM, and for students 120 BAM”, said Hadžibajrić.

In the last eight years, the municipality has allocated more than one million BAM for scholarships, “and we also give scholarships to talented students”.

The chairman of the Municipal Council of Stari Grad Municipality, Jusuf Pušina, congratulated to students and stressed the importance of investment in knowledge.

He stressed that, although scholarships are symbolic and within the limits of the Municipality, they are awarded with love with and the hope that students will return it by the acquisition of knowledge.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina, your parents, family, and all of us, are passing through various difficulties, but we are leaving legacy for you to save it, and to build Bosnia and Herzegovina.” said Pušina.

Adnan Popara, on behalf of other students, thanked the municipality on scholarships and pointed out that this will help them in further education, and will help to improve results in the sport, and average grades.

Stari Grad Municipality, through the Department of Veterans Protection, announced a competition for scholarships for students for academic 2016/2017. year, in December last year, and the right to participate have children of demobilized soldiers, war invalids and martyrdom, or the families of fallen soldiers, who are in full-time education in high schools and colleges in the Sarajevo Canton.
