Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic rated that perspectives of the ” One Road and One Belt”, behind which is the People’s Republic of China, are huge, considering the fact that they will have financial capital of 100 billion EUR at their disposal.
Sarovic recently visited China, where he participated in the forum “One Road, One Belt.” He signed a cooperation agreement with the People’s Republic of China in the field of development, infrastructure, energy and tourism, with which BiH formally became part of the project, whose initiative was launched in 2013 and the People’s Republic of China put more than 100 billion EUR on disposal for different projects.
“The project “One Road, One Belt ” or “Silk Road”, is aimed at connecting one huge belt with a growing potential in the terms of infrastructure, resources, and multi-culture, and the name “silk road” was elected as a kind of message from ancient times. This, huge and important project by all means behind which is the People’s Republic of China, is in its initial phase of formation and development, and considering the fact that it will have the financial capital of almost 100 billion EUR at its disposal, its perspectives are huge,” noted Minister Sarovic.
He also said that BiH should seek for its place as a full member and nominate projects with its active role and use these opportunities that are very realistic.
Sarovic also talked about the announcement that the Strategy of rural development of BiH will be finished in June. Agricultural producers warned that it must consider the fact that many villages remained empty.
“After years of hesitation and delays, it is very important that consensus to proceed with the development of this strategic document was reached inside the country. It would be really stupid if we do not end this job as soon as possible because we are late at least six or seven years. Due to this delay, we could not use pre-accession funds of the European Union in the amount of several tens of millions of EUR for agricultural development in the last period, and we will experience the same if the strategy does not get adopted in the next few months, because we will not receive IPA funds for the next cycle. At the moment, we are actively working on this document, and it will contain all the necessary segments that one strategy of this kind should have,” said Sarovic.
