120 years since the establishment and the same number of years of work of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, a medical institution established in 1894, was celebrated yesterday in Sarajevo City Hall.
The celebration that awoke emotions of pride, also represents a recognition for all doctors that have started to work in the Clinical Center from the first day, said academician prof. Dr. Vjekoslav Gerc.
“Because, 120 years of the existence of the oldest and most famous medical institution in BiH awake memories of 1894 when the hospital on Kosevo started to work. We should look at those 120 years with lot of pride and happiness. CCUS became the most eminent medical institution in the 21st century“, said Gerc, adding that today, the CCUS is “the most prestigious medical institution where the most modern medical method are being applied“ on Western Balkans.
“Nothing of that would have happened without wonderful colleagues, humanists who gave themselves and their profession to the CCUS. They are great from the first day, and one man is great only when he chose to be great. This celebration is a praise for all of them“, concluded Gerc.
According to the words of the Managing director of the CCUS, Rusmir Mesihovic, the Clinical Center in Sarajevo is, with 3.700 employed and 1.800 beds, the biggest medical institution in BiH and one of leading ones on Balkan.
“It is for sure that we have a very good team that is well-established and of course we are walking forward with secure steps. Doctors from this institute surely represent the leading ones in region“, said Mesihovic adding that the CCUS is prud on the bug concentration of young medical personnel that can compete with their colleagues in countries across Europe.
