More than Hundred Knights to compete at Kastel Fortress

More than a hundred knights from all over the region will compete on the following weekend at Banja Luka Fortress “Kastel” to revive medieval knights fighting.

For the second year in a row, knights come in Banja Luka under the international festival “Kastrum 2019”, which will be open from 7th to 9th June, and visitors will have the opportunity to see medieval knights fighting, dresses, ceremonies and some of the old ones forgotten crafts.

As organizers have announced, archery, swordsmanship, as well as a show of medieval knights’ fight, dance with flames are planned, and all performers will be dressed in medieval costumes.

The organizer of this event will gather about 100 participants from Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, BiH and Poland.

“The event promotes cultural and historical heritage, and the idea is to make old and forgotten crafts to revive again through attractive events, but also to enrich the events on the fortress of Kastel,” the organizers said.

Also, the exhibition on arms and armor of Medieval Warriors will be opened in the Stone House in Kastela tonight and will be exhibited from the period from the 11th to the 16th century, Federal News Agency reports.
