Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Nicola Minasi presented the VII Season of Italian Culture in BiH, which, from September to December, will offer citizens numerous programs that will present Italian culture.

The program of the Season of Italian Culture started with an exhibition on Italian folk customs that was opened in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka.

The most important event of this year’s Italian Culture Season, as the ambassador pointed out, is a seminar which will be from November 28-29, and will mark the 155th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Diplomatic relations between Italy and BiH were established on June 20th, 1863 with the opening of the first Consulate General of the Kingdom of Italy, headed by Consul Cesare Durando,” the ambassador said.

A book on 155 years of bilateral diplomatic relations will also be presented on this occasion.

In the coming period, Italian language week will be organized, which will be held from October 14th to October 20th at the Universities of Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar.

The Season of Italian Culture program will include the Italian Film Week as well as the Italian Cuisine Week as well as many other events.

Ambassador Minasi also spoke to BiH poet Emir Sokolovic during his meeting with media representatives, who said that he was “a well-known and recognized poet in Italy and a recipient of numerous awards and recognitions”. On this occasion, the Italian Ambassador to BiH presented him with the International Award for Literature of the City of Arce for his best work by a foreign author, Radio Sarajevo reports.
