Federal Government allocates 2.5 Million BAM for Farmers

The Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Kemal Hrnjic, said that unfavorable weather conditions had a significant impact on all agricultural crops, from lower quality and lower yields of wheat, to raspberries, the situation in beekeeping, farming and other branches of agriculture.

“With the established changes to the budget for this year, which we established at the session of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) Government during this week and which should be adopted by the FBiH Parliament, we have planned additional funds to precisely help those agricultural producers whose production is threatened by unfavorable weather conditions,” Hrnjic pointed out two days ago.

He emphasized that with the aforementioned budget changes, they planned to channel 2.5 million BAM into direct support measures and to try to secure additional funds through certain redistributions within the Ministry.

“Therefore, we plan to send the entire amount directly to producers whose production is threatened by unfavorable weather conditions and they are recognized through the Program of Financial Support for Agriculture and Rural Development”, he pointed out.

In the cantons where a state of natural disaster has been declared, he added, the Government of the FBiH has provided intervention funds.

He expressed his belief that with the planned funds and with the regularity of the planned payments of financial support for the second quarter, it will be enough to bring this farming year to an end and start a new one, Akta reports.
