In the village of Trusina near Konjic, the 29th anniversary of the war crime against Croats in this area, which was committed in 1993 by members of the Army of Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RBiH) members, was marked.

Wreaths were laid at a memorial, candles were lit, and Mass was served for all the victims.

The crime occurred in the morning and was committed by members of the “Zulfikar”, the Unit for Special Purposes.

Edin Dzeko was sentenced to 13 years in prison for this crime, together with Rasema Handanovic, who was sentenced to five and a half years in prison, after pleading guilty.

The Court of BiH also sentenced Nihad Bojadzic to 15 years in prison for crimes in Trusina, while Nedzad Hodzic and Mensur Memic were sentenced to 12 and 10 years, respectively.

The proceeding against Zulfikar Alispago, Commander of the Special Detachment for Special Purposes “Zulfikar” of the Army of RBiH, in this case, was separated in 2014 due to illness. He is now on trial in the Court of BiH on charges of failing to undertake measures to punish subordinate members of the RBiH Army for killing 18 civilians and 4 members of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO).

To recall, the Constitutional Court of BiH last year rejected as unfounded the appeal of Mensur Memic, which he filed against the verdict sentencing him to ten years in prison for a crime committed in the village of Trusina near Konjic.

Memic, a former member of the ”Zulfikar Detachment”, who was convicted of taking part in the shooting of six members of the HVO, filed an appeal, claiming that his right to a fair trial had been violated throughout the mentioned proceeding.
