A total of 71 reported Cases of Leptospirosis since the Beginning of the Epidemic

According to data from the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute regarding the outbreak of the infectious disease leptospirosis in the Canton, the total number of reported cases since the beginning of the epidemic is 71.

The daily report states that two people have been hospitalized at the KCUS, and that there are no fatal cases.

The epidemic of the infectious disease leptospirosis in the Canton of Sarajevo was declared on May 23 of this year. The number of laboratory-confirmed cases is 30, and the number of probable cases based on the WHO definition is 41.

The highest number of reported cases in the Canton is from the Novi Grad municipality with 53, followed by Ilidža with eight, and the Center with seven cases.

The Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute is continuously monitoring the epidemiological situation and any changes will be updated.
