The Serbian Educational Cultural Society (SPKD) “Prosvjeta” Sarajevo organized a traditional Christmas concert tonight at the National Theater in Sarajevo, and this year the members of the Choir of the Serbian Singing Society “Jedinstvo” from Kotor (Montenegro) performed as guests.

The concert was opened by members of KUD “Lola” from Sarajevo with spiritual compositions and folklore dances, while members of the Choir of the Serbian Singing Society “Jedinstvo” from Kotor (Montenegro) performed spiritual and traditional Christmas songs.

The president of SPKD “Prosvjet” Nedeljko Masleša previously emphasized that with the concert they are joining the celebration of Christmas, and he hopes that this event will complete the festive atmosphere that is traditional in Sarajevo at the end of the old and the beginning of the new calendar year.

“We want this cultural event, in its own way, to be a contribution to preserving and nurturing the tradition of mutual understanding, appreciation and respect, which has always adorned the way of life in these areas,” emphasized Masleša.

This year’s 14th Christmas concert was held in the year when the 40th anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games held in Sarajevo is being celebrated, and it is a contribution to the enrichment of culture in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
