The Association of Citizens of “Zašto ne” (Why Not) announced in Sarajevo today a street action where they will present their project “Moj Ustav, Bolji Ustav!” (My Constitution, Better Constitution)-a web application whose goal is to enable a better understanding of individual constitutional provisions and amendments previously suggested. Citizens can also propose their own amendments.

The action will be held in Park Svjetlost near the Economics Faculty at 12:00.

Citizens would have the opportunity to become familiar with the website ‘Bolji Ustav’, so that they could express their consent or dissent with certain provisions of the BiH Constitution, the FBiH, and the RS, as well as to propose for better solutions.

This is the first of 40 actions that in the next two months will be held in more than 20 cities in BiH. The goal is for the online platform of the Association “Zašto ne” to enable access to citizens who do not have Internet.

The portal “Bolji Ustav” emerged from the need to hear the voice and opinions of the citizens of BIH on key reforms from which they are now completely excluded, and in this regard present one place where their opinions on constitutional reform is sought and valued.

The Association “Zašto ne” is realizing this project with the Association “Oštra nula” from Banja Luka with the support of the Center for Civil Initiatives.

The second project in the area of new technologies that engages with “Zašto ne” will also be presented.

Visitors will be introduced with the online platform “Popravi mi školu” (Fix my School), where the problems in the BiH education system will be reported, as well as the site “Pravo da znam” (Right to Know), created so that BiH citizens could more easily gain access to free information and to make the BiH authorities more accountable and transparent.

Apart from becoming familiar with the web platform, citizens at this action could support the campaing “Građanin/građanka prije svega – za BiH bez diskriminacije!” (Citizen before all-for a BiH without discrimination), led by Koalicija Jednakost (Equality Coalition).
