Agreement between Slovakia and BiH on international road transport of passengers and cargo will take effect from 7th January 2013.

Ministry of Communications and Transport BiH informed the competent institutions and carriers engaged in international road transport of passengers and cargo that the procedure of Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovakia on the international road transports of passengers and cargo will take effect from 7th January 2013.

The provisions of this Agreement are related to international road transport of passengers and cargo, in terms of public transport and transport for personal needs, between the territories of the contracting parties and in transit through their territories

Also, the terms of this Agreement apply to the transportation of passengers and cargo between the territory of a Contracting Party and a third country with vehicles registered in the territory of the other.

Thus, the provisions of this Agreement,  related to the transportation of passengers of “shuttle transportation”, specifies that carriers of one contracting party are entitled to alternately engage in international transport and occasional transportation,  can perform it between the territories of the contracting parties and in transit through their territories without permission.

Under the Agreement relating to the transportation of cargo: “transportation of cargo and permit system”, the carriers of one contracting party can carry out cargo transportation between the territories of the contracting parties even in transit through their territory without permission.

Carriers of a Contracting Party may, by utilizing the prior authorization by permit, to perform on the national territory of the other contracting party transportation between the territory of the other Contracting Party and the territory of a third country.

This restriction does not apply to empty vehicles.
