Airline Sea Air, previously registered in Slovenia, intends to establish flights from Banja Luka as of next year.
In the beginning, Sea Air will have two flights per week from Banja Luka, to Frankfurt, Stockholm, Malmo and Basel.
Negotiations between the airline and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Republika Srpska will be held next month, when the signing of the commercial contract is expected to occur.
“They only ask for logistical and marketing support. We are willing to sign a commercial contract. The airline wants the flights to be established on passenger and freight traffic and they intend on employing local population. The talks are going in the right direction and we expect the flights in the spring next year,” said the Minister of Transportation and Communications of RS Neđo Trninić.
The airline Sea Air was first registered in Croatia and they were supposed to establish flights from the Osijek Airport. However, due to frequent late arrivals and cancellation of flights, airport administration cancelled the cooperation.
Then the company moved the headquarters to Slovenia, with the intention of establishing flights from the airport Paderborn in Germany. However, according to German media, due to frequent appeals from passengers over cancellation of flights the airport suspended the flights of that company.
