The Consortium “Logistics BiH” announced that an important step forward has been made with the authorities regarding the demands of the transport community and that the border blockades, announced for Monday, June 16, will not take place.
“The Consortium `Logistics BiH` accepts that the reasons for the warning protest on June 16 have been met and withdraws the announced border blockade activities, as a sign of responsibility and goodwill, and with faith in a solution through official and diplomatic channels,” the statement said.
The Consortium stated that after consultations with the Ministry of Communications and Transport in the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers, the governments of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, an important step forward has been made in the institutional response to the demands of the transport community.
They stated that the Minister of Communications and Transport in the Council of Ministers, Edin Forto, has agreed on a text that will be officially submitted to the European Commission and the competent EU bodies as the position of BiH regarding the implementation of the AETR agreement and the treatment of the stay of professional drivers.
They also added that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković launched a diplomatic initiative to remove all legal and technical ambiguities regarding the stay of transport workers in the EU through bilateral and multilateral channels.
The Council of Ministers and members of the Presidency of BiH have given full institutional support to the dialogue with the EU, and have undertaken the obligation of continuous communication to protect the rights of transport workers, the statement said. BH travel guides
If, as they pointed out, there are no visible and concrete results in resolving all the demands of the transport industry by September 1, the Consortium “Logistics BiH” has announced a “French model” of protests and blockades.
“We clearly emphasize that preparations for the French model of protests are already underway and that from August 15, in each local community, members of the Consortium will be activated in accordance with the plan and organization of protests until all demands are met,” the statement said.
They thanked the members for their understanding, determination, unity and perseverance in solving problems that have lasted for more than two decades, and emphasized that the Consortium remains the most organized interest community in the sector, dedicated to dialogue, development and protection of every carrier, operator and worker in the logistics chain.
