Russia will continue contributing to the internal dialogue in BiH in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement and guaranteed equality of the two entities and three constituent peoples, as noted by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH, Petar Ivancov.

“We honestly appreciate the independent foreign policy of BiH, and Russia has a great interest in a safe, stable and independent development of BiH,” said Ambassador Ivancov at a reception organized in Sarajevo on the occasion of the Day of Russia.

He also noted that Russia is a constructive and responsible partner of BiH and that mutual cooperation is conducted in numerous fields, including energy and banking with the example of Russian company “Zarubeznjeft” and Sberbank.

“We have a great potential for development in numerous fields of cooperation between our two countries. We are determining new goals and intensively talking about new possibilities for cooperation,” stated Ivancov.

He also noted that the peoples of Russia and BiH were connected by mutual understanding and cooperation based on the Slovenian language, culture and tradition throughout the history.

He stated that Russia is open to cooperation with all countries that are willing to cooperate on the principle of equality and mutual respect.
