The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Italy, Amira Arifović-Harms, was awarded today in Naples, the prestigious “Mediterranean Award for Diplomacy”, awarded by the international organization United Nations, which brings together more than 16,000 organizations from 181 countries.
The award, along with the artwork “Totem of Peace” and an honorary ribbon, was presented to Ambassador Arifović-Harms by the Secretary General of the Organization and President of the Mediterranean Foundation Michele Capasso, after the official explanation of the decision was read.
The ceremony was also attended by the President of the Council of Ambassadors of the Organization, Giuseppe D’Antonio, and it was this Council that had previously awarded Ambassador Arifović-Harms the title of Honorary Ambassador of the United Nations.
In her address, Ambassador Arifović-Harms thanked for the honor, stressing that the title and award given to her will be an additional incentive to work even more strongly in the future to promote the basic goals of the Organization – building peace, strengthening trust, dialogue and multilateralism.
