Ambassador of Switzerland to BiH Visited Drin Instittuion

andre schaller-ambas. svicarskeWith the ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony in the Drin Instittuion in Fojnica, Ambassador of Switzerland to BiH Andre Schaller and the Director of the Institute Đenita Karahmet marked the commissioning of the verticalization device for patients in the in the physical therapy office, which finishes the project “Rehabilitation via the Verticalization System”.

This is a device for people with disabilities who are not able to stand on their legs and for people who use wheelchairs.

The total value of the project is 18.555.03 KM, and from that 18.000 KM come from the funds by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland (FDFA) through the Swiss Embassy in BiH, while the rest of the 555.03 KM is financed by the Drin Institute. The devices were installed in the physical therapy room at the Drin Institute.

There are 36 disabled users of this, out of which 20 are children and adolescents and 22 who are seriously disabled.

“They have a right to the best available health care. We are obliged to provide them with such care, while respecting their human dignity because they are a part of our society’’, said Ambassador Schaller.

The Ambassador also mentioned the contribution of doctors, nurses, health and social workers and the contribution of family members and volunteers for the commitment to work with the aim of entrusting the best health care.
