ohrThe Peace Implementation Council in BiH will hold a meering at the level of ambassador countries on Tuesday, August 30, where they will discuss the announced referendum in the RS on the so-called “Day of the RS”, confirmed the spokesman of OHR Mario Brkić.

Brkić could not talk about details on the preparation of the meeting nor comment on allegations about split opinions of PIC ambassadorzs.

High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko previously stated that detailed preparations for a session of PIC that will be held on Tuesday, August 30, are in progress and that opinions about referendum are stil split.

Meeting of the Steering Committee of PIC, which was supposed to be held on August 23, was postponed due to additional consultations.

Russian Ambassador to BiH Petr Ivancov previously stated that Russia does not think that the expression of the will of one nation on the issue that is considered to be important is illegal.

“I already spoke about the referendum and we wanted to discuss it at the session of the PIC. I believe tensions should be reduced regarding this issue,” Ivancov added.
