The U.S. Embassy together with other representatives of the international community is
preparing a conference that is scheduled for spring 2013. This Conference will discuss the
options of possible reform of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We found out that there is no secret ”American plan” to reform the Federation of Bosnia
and Herzegovina, but as they state, it is clear that the United States of America has already
addressed the matters of making the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its levels
of government more functional. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a complex,
doubled and an expensive structure. Because of this, the United States of America would love
to see a more functional and efficient Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a little bit
less bureaucratic.

They also remind about the Ambassador Patrick Moon’s plea to some political leaders
and non government organizations to begin discussing about potential changes of the
Constitutional Law of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that the rights and needs
of its citizens would be better secured. American Ambassador will further on encourage the
political and social society to talk about this topic and is willing to offer support, although all
decisions about the potential reform of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is solely in
the hand of its political leadership and its citizens.
