Within the case code-named “Indy”, Ivo Kobaš, the accused employee of the Veterinary Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the position of a veterinary inspector, has fully admitted his guilt for the criminal offense of Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefit, referred to in Article 217 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is charged against him by the Indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Pursuant to the Plea Agreement, the sentence of imprisonment for a term of one (1) year has been proposed for the accused, which will not be executed if this accused person does not commit a new criminal offence for a period of two (2) years, as well as a fine in the amount of BAM 5,000 as an accessory punishment, and removal from office and ban from performing official duties for a period of five (5) years.

Pursuant to the Plea Agreement, the accused is to be deprived of unlawful material gain in the amount of BAM 100 KM, which he acquired by committing the criminal offense.

The aforementioned accused is charged with accepting a gift in the said amount when a vehicle entered Bosnia and Herzegovina, all in order that he not review the documentation and carry out the prescribed procedure when importing food of animal origin to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The proposed sentence is in accordance with the role and responsibility of the accused in the commission of the criminal offense.

By virtue of this Plea Agreement, the accused has waived his right to a trial and the right to appeal the Judgment pronounced against him by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of the Plea Agreement.

The Plea Agreement has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
