32 years ago, on the night of August 25-26, 1992, the Town Hall was hit and set on fire by artillery fire from the position of the Army of the Republika Srpska at that time, destroying a huge collection of priceless manuscripts, books and documents.

That tragic event left a deep mark in the hearts of the citizens of Sarajevo, as well as the wider public.

On the occasion of that anniversary, a photo exhibition titled “Strasni in the Town Hall” by Milomir Kovačević Strašni was opened in the Town Hall. The exhibition shows a series of emotional and poignant photographs taken on the very day of the burning of the Town Hall, August 26, 1992.

Through these photos, visitors will have the opportunity to see scenes that testify to the destruction, but also to the strength of the spirit of Sarajevo in the most difficult moments. The exhibition will be open to visitors throughout the year, providing an opportunity for all who visit to connect with the past and reflect on moments we must not forget.

In addition to the exhibition, there will be a concert by the No Borders Orchestra in the City Hall, which brings together top musicians from the countries of the Western Balkans. This orchestra, known for its mission of connecting different cultures through music, will hold a concert on September 4 at 8:00 p.m., with free entry for all visitors.

The concert is a symbol of unity and hope, and reminds us of the power of art in overcoming differences, announced JP Sarajevo.
