Associations of Victims call EUFOR and NATO to protect Returnees

The Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide, the Association “Movement of Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa”, the Association of Women of Podrinje, the Association of Families of Martyrs, Prisoners and Missing Persons in Kotor Varoš and the Association of Camp Inmates in Bosnia and Herzegovina have called again for the forces of the European Union (EUFOR) and NATO to protect Bosniaks, returnees to the Republika Srpska entity.

“After attacks on returnees to the entity of the RS became everyday and considering that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS as well as the prosecutor’s offices in the RS have no intention of taking any actions with the aim of preventing and punishing the perpetrators, and with the aim of protecting the returnees who have become an obvious target for survival, we once again call on EU forces and NATO forces, stationed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to protect Bosniaks,” the victims’ associations said.

Otherwise, as they further state, “we will hold them (EU and NATO forces) responsible for the escalation of violence”.

“Clearly and unequivocally, we say that we will no longer tolerate such behavior at the cost of self-organization for the purpose of protecting our returnees,” said the victims’ associations in a press release.
