On May 15th, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sifet Podzic, attended the meeting of the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, at the invitation of the Secretary of Defense of the United States (U.S.).

The meeting discussed the crisis in Ukraine and the donations necessary to deal with the complex situation in that country.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Podzic met with several Ministers of Defense, with whom he discussed security challenges in the Balkans and Europe, as well as improving bilateral cooperation and strengthening defense capacities.

Podzic once again pointed out that BiH is committed to fulfilling the conditions for NATO membership, and that the Balkans is an important area for Europe and that all countries must work together to strengthen the security environment in the region in order to create conditions for economic development.

The Minister emphasized the important role of NATO, but also of the European Union (EU), and said that he expects that NATO and the EU, together with BiH and other countries in the region, will continue to act actively in order to strengthen the security and economic environment.

BiH Ambassador to NATO Mitar Kujundzic also attended the meeting, Klix.ba writes.
