Athletes of Special Olympics BiH won 14 Medals in Austria

special olympicsAthletes of Special Olympics of BiH, arrived in Sarajevo after participation in the Winter Olympics in Austria where they won a total of 14 medals.

Director Executive of Special Olympics of BiH Kada Delic-Selimovic said that among those 14 medals five are gold, three silver, and six bronze.

“When we departed, we said that we are going modestly and now we are proudly back with 14 medals,” said Delic-Selimovic.

She especially noted two gold medals of Edna Sunjic in slalom and giant slalom, gold medals of Edita Dikonja and Kristina Klacar in Nordic walking, as well as the gold medal of Andrija Rados in the discipline Super G.

Sanela Corovic, Hiba Sultanovic, Radenko Savanovic and Sanela Corovic won silver medals – all in Nordic walking.

Winners of bronze medals are Merima Osmanovic – 2 bronze medals in slalom and giant slalom, Spomenko Martinovic in slalom and Radenko Savanovic, Selmedina Berisaj and Hiba Sultanovic in Nordic walking.

Delic-Selimovic praised the good organization of the event and expressed the hope that some of the next ones will be held in Sarajevo.
