ZilhaZilha Seta, or better known as Aunt Zilha, head of the Soup Kitchen Stari Grad, told how proud she is on all humane citizens of B&H in the country and abroad, who helped the most vulnerable groups in the society with their donations on this Eid al-Adha again.

Aunt Zilha stated that preparations for the Eid al-Adha were going as planned, and that all activities for helping those who need the help were taking place since early morning yesterday.

“All users of the Soup kitchen received the meat that was prepared for Eid last year that we had in stock this morning. There is a lot of meat prepared as sacrifice in B&H throughout the year as well. People are sacrificing sheep for example for health, admission to university, on the foundations of the new house etc. We receive this meat on a daily basis, so we were ready for Eid, “said aunt Zilha.

She added that the users of the kitchen went home happy with meat, whole bread, chicken and salami. Aunt Zilha emphasized that the Eid al-Adha is very special to her, and there are reasons for that.

“Listening to all the stories about difficult times and poverty, I am positively surprised that this Eid al-Adha is raised to such high level. We have plenty of food. When we open the kitchen for users on Friday, we will collect plenty of meat and distribute it,” said Aunt Zilha.

“I am proud of our Sarajevo and our B&H. A lot of people from diaspora have also contacted us to help and we are expecting a lot of meat as well,” said Aunt Zilha.

She said that on Friday, when the Soup Kitchen opens again, the meet will be given to the Martyrs families, as well as to all the other users.

During the upcoming days of Eid al-Adha, due to the receiving and distribution of meat, the Soup Kitchen “Stari Grad” will have a modified working regime with its users.

On Wednesday, the Kitchen distributed double portions of bread and hot stew to its 1,023 users for the first day of Eid al-Adha, which falls on Thursday when the Kitchen will not be working.

The Soup Kitchen will start to work again on Friday, and that day, besides division of hot meals in the morning, outside the offices of the Soup kitchen will be dividing the meat for all of the Kitchen users in the period from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
