The Average Salary in the RS lower from Month to Month?

money (1)The average net salary in January this year in the RS was 815 BAM in relation to the same month of 2016, it decreased by 0.6 % in real terms, while it is smaller by 3.3 % in real terms compared to December 2016, according to the Bureau of Statistics of the RS.

Observed by regions, in January 2017, the highest average net salary was paid in the financial and insurance, and it amounted to 1,238 BAM.

On the other hand, the lowest average net salary in January 2017 was paid in the area of administrative and support services and it amounted to only 527 BAM.

In January 2017, in comparison to December 2016, the nominal growth of net salary was recorded in areas of other service activities by 17.6 %, in professional, scientific and technical activities by 13.8 % and in the area of construction by 2 %.

Reduction of salaries, in nominal terms, was recorded in the areas of information and communication by 36.2 %, in the area of education by 6.7 % and real estate by 4.2 %.

From the Bureau of Statistics stated that the prices of products and services that are used for personal consumption in the RS, measured by consumer price index, in January 2017 were increased by 0.9 % on average compared to the previous month, while annually, on average, it is increased by 0.4 %.

Of the 12 main sections of goods and services, higher prices were recorded in nine sections, lower prices in two, while the prices in one section remained unchanged. The largest price increase in January was recorded in the section of alcoholic drinks and tobacco (3.6 %) due to the increase in cigarette prices by an average of 5 %, which is a result of the increase in excise duties on tobacco and tobacco products from the 1st of January 2017.
