Banja Luka is the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it is located in the area with beautiful nature. It is located between hills covered with fine woods, in the valley of rivers Vrbas, Vrbanja and Suturlija. There are numerous alleys and parks, thanks to which this city is called the city of greenery.
“Tourist offer of the city of Banja Luka refers to a tour of the city that includes the closest city center and fortress Kastel, which lasts for about 2 hours. As part of this offer is included the visit of the most important cultural and historical monuments and religious sites, such as the Ferhadija Mosque and the Temple of Christ the Savior” said Mladen Sukalo, independent tourist associate.
Within the offer is the organization of visit to resort Krupa on Vrbas where is the monastery Krupa and waterfalls and mills on Krupa River. Water mills are having special offer of traditionally-made fritters served with homemade sour cream, which are made of flour that is grinded in the mill.
Krupa also has other locations that are included in the offer, such as camp and a medieval fortress Greben, spring of Krupa River and wooden church in Tovilovici.
Visits to ethno village Ljubacke doline, which is 17 kilometers away from the center of Banja Luka, are organized as well.
“This ethno village was opened in 2015 and it has enriched the tourist offer and extended the option for longer stay of visitors. There are more than 5,000 exhibits grouped into specific collections as well as the largest ethnological collection which illustrates and captures the life in this region in the late 19th and early 20th century,” explained Sukalo.
The tourist offer of the city of Banja Luka includes the adventure that is based on the activities of the wild waters in the canyon of Vrbas River.
“Besides rafting, this type of offer includes hiking in the nearby woods, climbing, kayak, canoe rides, paragliding, parachuting, biking and similar activities”, explained Sukalo.
Banja Luka is also world famous for its numerous cafes. Even the British Guardian wrote about the city with a thousand cafes.
Banja Luka stands out with its cultural events starting from sports, cultural and entertainment events.
There are many festivals organized throughout the year, such as: Dukat fest, Kozara ethno festival, Summer on Vrbas, Theatre Fest, Days of Vlado Milosevic, Demofest, Fresh Wawe, Beer Fest, Banja Luka Days of Beer as well as many others.
In the end, about Banja Luka Mujo’s kebabs is unnecessary to even talk, because who did not taste them, did not feel real taste of this Bosnian delicacy.
