Becirovic comments the Visit of the President of the Republic of Croatia

The member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, commented today on the visit of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, to the municipality of Usora, stating that one of BiH’s strategic goals is regional cooperation and that in this sense, preserving the dignity and dignity of BiH, he is trying to develop the best possible regional cooperation.

He reminds that a few days ago he spoke with the President and Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia and that he wants to directly discuss and solve open issues and work on improving economic cooperation, “preserving the sovereign equality of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in communication with our neighbors”.

“In this sense, it is possible in the coming period, in the coming months and years, that there will be a visit of the highest officials from neighboring countries, but all of them must respect Bosnia and Herzegovina, its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said Bećirović, who was staying today in Tuzla where, on the occasion of May 15 – Tuzla Defense Day in 1992, he paid tribute to Tuzla defenders.

Responding to journalists’ inquiries as to whether Milanović ignores state institutions by persistently bypassing the Presidency of BiH, Bećirović says that this is a question for Milanović, repeating that he expects respect from the state of BiH and its institutions.

“I am neither his lawyer, nor anyone else’s, I am the lawyer of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and I will do everything in my power to move this country forward. As for his statements, I told him to his face in the talks in Zagreb and at the press conference that I expect respect from the state of BiH, that I expect equal cooperation and that the members of the BiH Presidency, including my colleague Komšić, are legal members of the BiH Presidency,” Bećirović said.

He points out that between the positions of BiH and Croatia, an intermediate space should be sought for dialogue and resolution of open issues, because without cooperation, these issues will never be resolved.

“In Zagreb, among other things, I spoke about the fact that we need to resolve property-legal issues, do you know how much property we have in Croatia, that we need to ratify the agreement on the state border. I also initiated that proposal in the BiH Presidency and it was unanimously accepted. There is a lot of space to solve open issues and to move forward, and not just to have useless arguments from which no one benefits either in Bosnia and Herzegovina or in Croatia,” concluded Bećirović.
