elektronski_dnevnikBH Telecom and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton signed on Thursday in Mostar a protocol on cooperation for the implementation of the project of E-education.

For the first phase of this project two schools from Mostar have been chosen, which will be connected to broadband Internet with optical fiber cables, and in these schools starting from next year they will begin to apply elements of electronic education, such as electronic diaries, enrolling in school electronically, electronically managing digital school records and the like.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zlatko Hadžiomerović for the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton said that today’s act of signing the protocol on cooperation is a step forward in the future of education in B&H.

Speaking on E-education in practice, Minister Hadžiomerović said that, for example, when a professor enters in a grade for a student in electronic format, parents of the student will receive notification of this via SMS.

Parents will then also have access to records of justified and unjustified hours, explained Hadžiomerović.

According to BH Telecom representative Enis Šantić, this company shall bear all costs for the implementation of the project in two selected schools in Mostar, and the ultimate goal is to offer the same opportunities in all other schools, in this  canton and throughout all of B&H.

‘’This includes not only the introduction of infrastructure in schools, but also training of staff in the schools’’, said Šantić.

He added that with the project of E-education, B&H is following the footsteps of developed countries, where the model of E-Learning has been successfully applied for many years.
