azilantiThe Belgian government declared B&H a state country, and all possible asylum seekers from B&H will undergo an accelerated procedure.

The local authorities have published a list of countries that are now considered safe for life, and in addition to B&H, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania and India are on the list. The demands of asylum seekers from these countries in the future will be solved within 15 days.

‘’The country is considered safe if in a given there is no repression as defined by the Geneva Convention and there is no risk for individuals who are returned to their country. The process of solving requests for asylum for such goes much faster, and it will take 15 days instead of the current three months’’, said the Belgian government.

This will further establish a visa-free regime that B&H has with Belgium.

The number of asylum seekers from these countries in the last period has reduced. In 2011 there were 4.687, 2.998 one year later, and 2.005 last year.
