B&H 7th in Europe in renewable Sources of drinking Water

According to research of the World Bank on renewable sources of drinking water, B&H is 1st in the region and 7th in Europe with 9,461 cubic meters of drinking water per capita, but it imports eight times more water than it exports.

B&H is seven times richer than Germany in renewable sources of drinking water.

Bosnia’s competitive position is similar when it comes to cereals as well; B&H has 250,000 hectares of uncultivated areas. B&H annually imports 150,000 tons of corn worth 58 million BAM and 140,000 tons of wheat worth 53 million BAM.

The trade deficit of B&H last year amounted to 7.51 billion BAM, of which 2.1 billion BAM belonged to agricultural products and food industry products.

The trade deficit in the exchange of products of mineral origin, which mainly refers to oil and oil products, was 1.18 billion BAM.

The deficit in the trade of machinery, equipment, and mechanical devices was 1.4 billion BAM, while the deficit in the trade of vehicles, which mainly refers to the import of passenger cars, amounted to 738 million BAM.
