A project involving the revitalization and eco-decoration of the popular promenade Ambassadors’ alley in the municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo has been completed.
A total of 43 linden trees have been replaced with new ones due to damage or disease following the revitalization of Ambassadors’ alley.
The Department of Public Relations of the Municipality of Stari Grad said that hilling and feeding was done, and regular monitoring of the status of plants is being performed.
“In the entire site of Ambassadors’ alley, seasonal vegetative maintenance of 149 linden trees, as well as hilling and feeding was done depending on their needs. The grass in the Alley was cut, the collection and disposal of non-organic waste was done, and vegetative regulation has begun. At the moment, planting of boxwood and Cotoneaster is taking place, as well as the delivery of plant material, peat and new garbage cans”, they said.
The Municipality of Stari Grad carried out, through the Department of Economy, field visits to the site and examined each tree from the entrance to the Ambassadors’ alley to the site ‘Da Riva’ or the Mošćanica bridge near Da Riva.
For the purpose of revitalizing the trees, landscape and eco-decoration and maintenance of Ambassadors’ alley, about 17,000 BAM will be allocated this year.
