This year’s tenth jubilee Tuzla bicycle race attracted a record number of participants. More than 6,000 two-wheeler enthusiasts sent a message about economical driving and an ecological lifestyle.
“Today, we from the Tuzla Cycling Club are proud of the fact that we have successfully organized the tenth cycling event. A beautiful gathering, numerous participants and friends who came from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, completed our jubilee. We exceeded the number of 6,000 participants, and this is the most massive and successfully organized cycling event. The message we are sending from Tuzla is: We drive economically, we live ecologically, and in this regard today a green column of cyclists passed through Tuzla and drew attention to how important it is to be aware and conscientious, i.e. how consciously and responsibly we should take care of our air pollution and mobility , about future generations,” said Mirsad Jusic, president of BK Tuzla, creator of the Tuzla cycling event.
Before the start of the bike ride, visitors could see an exhibition of retro bikes, and after the bike ride, all participants were in the prize game, which was helped by sponsors.
The cycling race was opened by the youngest participants who drove a two-kilometer section, and then the cycling race started on a 14-kilometer section. The happy faces at the finish line said that the bicycle race is rightfully the most massive sports event in Tuzla, Tuzla Canton, and probably in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Cyclists from Tuzla have been clamoring for a bicycle path for years, and a large number of them indicate that they are not that safe on the road.
“They are not as safe on the road as cyclists because the drivers of other means of transport are not so conscientious. For me, this is the perfect event. And this is an opportunity for recreationists to come out, participate and show the city how many of us there are. Even if there was a charge for the cycling event, I would participate,” says Bedrana Kaletovic, participant of the cycling event.
Behind the Cycling Club Tuzla is another successfully organized cycling event. The preparations lasted for three months, and the participants applauded on several occasions the efforts and work of all those who were part of the successful team headed by the sports enthusiast and visionary Mirsad Jusic.
