Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova are preparing to conclude an Air Service Agreement that would pave the way for the introduction of scheduled flights between the two countries for the first time.
Speaking at a government meeting, Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea said the initiative would strengthen connectivity and economic cooperation between the two states.
“This initiative will contribute to increasing passenger traffic between the two states. This is an additional factor to stimulate tourism, develop trade exchange and strengthen bilateral economic ties,” Bolea noted.
He added that the agreement would bring significant benefits for both travelers and the wider economy. “For the public, the conclusion of the agreement between Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina means more direct flights from Chisinau, and for the economy – increased passenger traffic, development of tourism, trade opportunities and a more competitive aviation market,” he said.
Moldova’s aviation sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with Chisinau emerging as an increasingly important regional hub. Airlines including Wizz Air, FlyOne, HiSky and SkyUp Airlines currently maintain bases in the Moldovan capital, helping expand the country’s international connectivity.
The planned agreement is expected to create new opportunities for tourism, business travel and broader economic cooperation between Southeast Europe and Eastern Europe.
