Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Mirko Sarovic, attended the meeting of Ministers of the Economy of Western Balkans in Vienna, which is the first of the three ministerial meetings that will be held within the Western Balkans Summit, whose continuation will take place on July 9.
Besides the Minister of Economy of the United Kingdom, the ministerial meeting was also attended by the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Johannes Han.
Ministers of Economy of the Western Balkans discussed the regional economic area and possible progress in regional integrations, but also digital development as one of the most important things when it comes to the development of regional economic agenda in the future period.
In his speech at the plenary session, Minister Sarovic noted that BiH is still giving an important contribution to the implementation of regional action plan for the establishment of regional economic area despite the fact that this is the election year.
He also added that BiH implemented the most important elements of agenda of the CEFTA Agreement, which includes the establishment of the Committee for Facilitation of Trade.
During the day, ministers also adopted ministerial conclusions, and their main focus was on digital transfer and further support for the development of the education system and the so-called “smart development of the Western Balkans”.
