BiH Minister says Croatia violates the Rights and does not respect the Interests of BiH

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not received official information from Croatia regarding the request to issue instructions on the content of the environmental impact study on the Center for disposal of radioactive waste at the site of Trgovska Gora.

For this reason, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac instructed the Legal and Expert Team to react promptly to protect the interests of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, claiming that Croatia in this way violates the rights and does not respect the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Borislav Bojić, said today that BiH intends to participate in the process of assessing the situation on the ground and that the state has a legal team that can respond to these challenges.

“BiH will request participation and information regarding this issue,” added Bojić, emphasizing that they will try to talk with the Croatian side because lawsuits will follow against Croatia if there is no agreement.

Chair of the Expert Team, Emir Dizdarević, reminded that in December the Government of the Republic of Croatia decided to change the program covering waste disposal when some things were changed from the program from 2018, which was sent to the European Atomic Energy Community.

He notes that some deadlines have been changed in the decision, so deliveries should start in Čerkezovac in 2025, and Dizdarević emphasizes that Croatia is not giving up on this location at Trgovska Gora.
