BiH and Montenegro on the cross-border Project of Fire Protection

cross-border cooperationIn the premises of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, yesterday the press conference for media was held at which the project “Cross-border fire protection“ was presented. The project is financed by the European Union as a part of the project of the cross-board cooperation of BiH and Montenegro.

The Assistant Minister of Security of BiH Semir Agic thanked to the EU for the support in this project, which goal is establishing of the good cross-border cooperation of Montenegro and BiH, and especially their firefighters and civil protection units.

“The main project activities include the purchase of equipment for protection and rescue from fire, trainings and instructions for rescuers and other participants in the system of protection and rescue from fire and disaster risk reduction, cross-border demonstration exercises, campaign of informing the population about the dangers of fire, preparation of a common cross-border plan of fire protection and other“ said Agic on the press conference.

Representatives of partner institutions and organizations emphasized that the project is important for the continuation of good cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in the development of protection and rescue of these two countries, because such projects contribute to the approximation of standards that follow the highest quality achievements in the strengthening of human and technical capacities of institutions and services dealing with the fire protection.

The project, whose realization have started on 18th December 2014, last 24 months, and includes 14 municipalities, nine municipalities from BiH (Mostar, Jablanica, Konjic, Ravno, Stolac, Cajnice, Gacko, Bileca and Trebinje) and five municipalities from Montenegro (Niksic, Zabljak, Pluzine, Pljevlja, Savnik).The value of the project for Bosnia and Herzegovina is 198.454 euros from which the European Union finances 84.40% or 167.504 euros, and the rest 15.6% is the contribution of the Ministry of Security BiH and INZA institute.

The value of the project for Montenegro is 229.159 euros, from which the European Union finances 84.99% or 194.762 euros.
