Investigative bodies of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BiH) initiated proceedings to determine the disciplinary and criminal responsibility of members of the Armed Forces of BiH, who were arrested on suspicion of committing the crime of unauthorized drug production and trafficking.

The Joint Staff of the AF BiH received a notification from the Operational Center East Sarajevo of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, stating that a member of the Armed Forces of BiH was deprived of liberty due to the stated suspicion.

Immediately upon receipt of the notification, the authorities in the Ministry of Defense and the AF BiH initiated investigative actions in their field of activity, in order to establish all relevant facts related to this case.

The AF BiH stated that, if it is determined that the military person violated the provisions of applicable laws and bylaws, in accordance with the degree of violation, it will be adequately sanctioned.

“The Armed Forces of BiH strongly condemn any form of inappropriate behavior of members of the BiH Armed Forces, which leads to violations of the provisions of the Code of Ethics and damage to the reputation of the Armed Forces of BiH,” they said.
