Perennial fugitive Amar Šljivo was arrested last night in the Sarajevo Canton, it was confirmed for Klix.ba.

As Klix.ba has learned, during the search in the Vogošća area, a certain amount of weapons and drugs were also found, and residential and auxiliary facilities were searched.

An international warrant has been issued for Šljivo since 2016 due to the unauthorized trafficking of weapons, military equipment and dual-use products.
Because of that, he was sentenced to two years in prison.

He defended himself from freedom and when it was time to serve his sentence, all traces of him were lost and a red warrant was issued for him. Years before, he filled media content in the black chronicle section.

At the beginning, he was charged with terrorism, but the crime was reclassified and after he pleaded guilty, he and two other people were convicted in 2015 of unauthorized trade in military equipment.

He was detained at the end of 2009 on suspicion of attacking two Sarajevo policemen. He was arrested on several occasions on suspicion of participating in shootings in front of restaurants in Sarajevo.
