Ahead of the upcoming New Year’s celebrations, the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo (CS) reminds citizens of the modified traffic regime on certain roads in the CS, as well as the increased police presence, traffic control, and monitoring of public order.

The organizer expected over 25.000 visitors at yesterday’s concert and today‘s public celebration of New Year’s 2025 in front of the Eternal Flame. To reduce traffic congestion and ensure quicker travel, citizens are encouraged to use public transportation or the services of authorized taxi operators.

Those choosing to arrive by private vehicle should park in designated areas and comply with the modified traffic regime. A complete list of streets where parking and traffic are prohibited is available on the website http://www.mup.ks.gov.ba.

Visitors are reminded that it is forbidden to bring any firearms, knives, fireworks, or other items that may pose a danger to others at public gatherings. Entry to the event area will not be permitted with bicycles, scooters, or electric scooters. Additionally, the use of drones directly above the secured public gathering zone is strictly prohibited.

Police officers will intensify monitoring of traffic participants, focusing particularly on driving under the influence of alcohol. A zero-tolerance policy will be applied to drivers found with illegal blood alcohol levels during inspections.

In emergencies, citizens can contact the police by dialing 122, and for non-urgent matters, they can reach local police stations directly at the following numbers: Stari Grad Police Station: 033 532 000, Centar Police Station: 033 206 000, Novo Sarajevo Police Station: 033 650 000, Novi Grad Police Station: 033 474 000, Ilidza Police Station: 033 639 000, Hadzici and Trnovo Police Station: 033 422 000, Ilijas Police Station: 033 430 000, Vogosca Police Station: 033 401 000, Operational Center of the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs: 033 286 804 and 033 286 805, Emergency Line for the Hearing Impaired: 061 482 252.

During the New Year’s holidays, police officers will be present throughout CS to implement planned activities across all areas of their work, contributing to a safe environment so everyone can welcome the New Year in peace.

The Police Administration of the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs wishes all citizens and visitors a healthy, happy, and peaceful New Year 2025, as stated in their announcement.

Severina for the New Year’s Eve Celebration

The famous singer Severina is set to perform in Sarajevo. At 9 p.m., a spectacular laser show will begin – something never before seen at a public New Year’s Eve celebration in Titova Street. After about 10 minutes of laser magic, the performance of rising local star Adi Sose will start at 9:15 p.m. The most promising young Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) performer has confirmed his immense popularity throughout the region in recent months.

At 11:15 p.m., one of the biggest regional stars, Severina, will take the stage.

At midnight, the countdown to the last ten seconds of 2024 will take place, followed by another spectacle – a so-called cold fireworks display.
