The Agency for Investigation and Protection of Axis and Herzegovina (SIPA) confiscated 269 kilograms of cocaine last year, the market value of which was estimated at 30 million euros, said SIPA Deputy Director Zoran Galić.

Galić said that the drug came to Bosnia and Herzegovina from South America and that it was determined by expert examination that it was cocaine of high purity.

He stated that SIPA conducted 27 investigations related to financial crime and corruption in the previous period. “Some of the more important actions are “Profit”, “Karantin”, “Konak”, “Rudnik”, “As”, “Trik”, “Diamond”, “Magnet”, Galić said.

He emphasized that great attention is being paid to the fight against terrorism, which represents one of the biggest security challenges today.

He pointed to the good cooperation of SIPA with all police bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Security of BiH, prosecutor’s offices and courts, and other competent bodies.

“I must point out that particularly significant cooperation was achieved with Europol and other international partners in the form of information exchange and provided data when it comes to the “Sky” and “Anom” applications, which contributed to the intensification of Sipe’s operational and investigative activities,” Galić told “Večernji list”, edition for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Speaking about the expectations of the formation of the “Zebra” working group, Galić assessed that it will contribute a lot to the prevention of smuggling and human trafficking, and that it will be easier to reach the organizers of criminal associations.

He noted that the operational working group “Zebra” will bring together police experts from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and Romania, Srna news agency writes.
