Serbia still has the highest inflation in the Region, BiH the lowest

Serbia is still the record holder in the region in terms of annual inflation rate. According to the latest data published in the countries of the region, Serbia is in first place with annual inflation in February of 6.4 percent.

Followed by Montenegro with annual inflation of 4.4 percent (data for January 2024), then Croatia (4.1 percent), Slovenia (3.4 percent), North Macedonia with annual inflation of three percent, Albania with 2.6 percent. BiH has the lowest inflation rate in the region, which in January 2024 was 1.96 percent on an annual basis.

Inflation in Serbia in February dropped from 6.4 percent in January to 5.6 percent compared to the same month last year, the Republic Statistical Office announced today.

The prices of products and services for personal consumption in February 2024 compared to January 2024 are on average higher by 0.6 percent.

Consumer prices in February 2024 compared to the same month of the previous year were 5.6 percent higher, while compared to December 2023 they were 0.9 percent higher on average.

Observed by the main groups of products and services classified according to the purpose of consumption, in February 2024, compared to the previous month, price increases were recorded in the groups alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.0 percent), transportation (1.9 percent), restaurants and hotels (1.0 percent), in the groups food and non-alcoholic beverages and health (0.4 percent each), “SeeBiz” reports.
