BiH Presidency Member Željka Cvijanović met on Sunday evening with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johann Wadephul.

The meeting discussed the current political situation in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina in general, as well as the challenges in the European integration process.

“Cvijanović expressed her commitment to BiH’s European path, emphasizing that it is clear that it cannot move towards the EU as a foreign protectorate. She pointed out that it is high time to end international supervision in BiH, and for domestic institutions and democratically elected representatives at all levels of government to take full responsibility for the processes,” the Office of Presidency Member Željka Cvijanović announced.

Cvijanović also spoke again about a balanced approach.

“On this occasion, Željka Cvijanović pointed out the importance of a balanced approach by foreign actors towards all constituent peoples in BiH, and full respect for its decentralized constitutional structure,” she said.

Wadephul also met with High Representative Christian Schmidt during his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is scheduled to visit other Western Balkan countries in the coming days.
