BiH rally to beat Bulgaria 87-67 in FIBA World Cup qualifier

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) came from behind to beat Bulgaria in the second round of FIBA Basketball World Cup European Qualifiers on Sunday in Zenica, a city located 75 kilometers northwest of Sarajevo.

In the third minute of the first quarter, Hristo Zahariev from the visiting team scored three points f, after which Edin Atic from host team scores. The rest of the first quarter the visiting team played better, holding advantage and going on a break with one point difference 25-24.

Host team played better in the second quarter, with quality defense and effective attack, and in the 15thminute, Atic brought a 6-point lead, turning the result to the host team advantage and ending with 19-10.

The third quarter was a splendid show by both teams, ending 22-19 for the host team.

The visiting team selector calls the time-out in 34thminute after the host team achieved 19-point lead. The host team lead the fourth quarter with 22-13, ending the match with final 87-67.

Hristo Zahariev scored 16 points for Bulgaria, while Edin Atic had 29 points for BiH.

From Group K teams of France, Russia and the Czech Republic are going to the World Championship, while BiH is on the 6thplace with 15 points with three wins and nine defeats.
