BiH records Increase in Number of Employed Persons

The number of employed persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina in November last year was 854,680, of which 385,993 were women, which is 0.2 percent more than the previous month, by which the number of employed women also increased.

In November, the largest number of employees were in the processing industry, 168,122 of them, followed by wholesale and retail trade, motor vehicle and motorcycle repair 155,846, and 76,575 in public administration and defense, mandatory social insurance, according to the data of the BiH Statistics Agency.

The fewest employed are in the real estate business, 3,371 of them, and in water supply, waste water removal, waste management, and environmental rehabilitation activities, 13,833, and in art, entertainment and recreation, 15,077.

Last November, the number of registered unemployed persons in BiH was 344,666, of which 201,579 were women.

Compared to October of the same year, the number of registered unemployed persons decreased by 0.4 percent, the number of men decreased by 0.5 percent, and the number of women by 0.3 percent.

Compared to November 2022, the number of registered unemployed decreased by 2.8 percent, the number of men decreased by 3.7 percent, and women by 2.2 percent.
