The Bosnia and Herzegovina pavilion at the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art, one of the oldest and most important festivals, founded in 1895, was opened.

The exhibition was opened by the chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, in the presence of the Regional Director of the UNESCO Office in Venice, Magdalena Landri, and the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak.

This year, Bosnia and Herzegovina is represented at the Venice Biennale with the project “Measure of the Sea” by Stjepan Skoka.

Skoka’s work explores the interactions and relationships between man and the sea, using marine elements to question the limits and measures of our coexistence with the natural environment.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is represented at the Biennale under the leadership of Marin Ivanović, this year’s trustee and curator of the pavilion, who is also the director of the Museum of Modern Art of the University of Mostar.

Bosnia and Herzegovina institutionally, with the coordination of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the competent entity ministries for the field of culture, has been performing at the Venice Art Biennale since 2013.

The organization of participation and ensuring continuity of presentation is regulated by the Protocol on the Model of Representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art at the Venice Biennale of Architecture signed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republika Srpska.

The Venice Biennale will open on April 20 and will run until November 24, 2024, AA writes.
