Bike with the Stars!

biciklijadaThe Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Info Centre will celebrate Europe Day – May 9 with sport and entertainment events called “Cycling with the Stars.”

Recreational cycling tour will take place simultaneously in Banja Luka, Bihac and Mostar on Europe Day, Saturday 9 May 2015, with the participation of the representatives of the EU Delegation to BiH, the local officials and citizens of all ages.

Cycling in Banja Luka on the river Vrbas, will be opened by the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative, Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark. The race will start at 15h00 on Krajina Square, where it will also finish.

On the banks of river Neretva in Mostar, the race starts at 12h00 and ends at the Spanish Square. Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Dr. Renzo Daviddi, will open the bike tour and also participate in the race.

In the town of Bihac, sports fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a twelve kilometre long route that begins and ends in the town square. The tour starts at 13h00 and will be opened by the Head of Communications of the EU Delegation and EUSR, Andy McGuffie.

Entertainment and music programmes will be organized at starting/finishing positions in all cities, and all participants will be able to participate in various activities, such as raffles with prizes, face painting, and a playroom with balloons for children.

The EU Delegation to BiH and EU Info Centre invite all citizens to celebrate the birthday of the European Union and to take part in the cycling races regardless of age.

All interested in participating in the recreational cycling race can apply until May 7th through the website of the EU Info Centrewww.euinfo.ba or on the day of the event at the starting positions in all three cities.
